Opening Theme, and Premiere Date Revealed for 'Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hōgen Sugite Tsura sugiru' Anime

The production team for the TV anime adaptation of Egumi Sora's Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hōgen Sugite Tsurasugiru has unveiled exciting new details. Among the announcements are two additional cast members, the artist performing the opening theme song, an advance cut video, and the official premiere date, set for January 2025. 

To commemorate the premiere announcement, the staff also released an original visual featuring the anime’s two female leads alongside the series' PR ambassador, VTuber Ui Nema.

Anime New Cast Members 

The newly announced cast includes Etsuko Kozakura, who will voice Oki Memo Shisha, a character inspired by Okinawa's traditional lion statue known for warding off evil spirits. Oki Memo Shisha will be responsible for introducing viewers to Okinawa throughout the series.

"The main character, Teruaki Nakamura, moves to Okinawa and falls in love with a girl there. However, he has trouble understanding her local dialect. Fortunately, Higa-san, a friend, helps him by translating what the girl says. 

This story is about a unique romance between people from different cultural backgrounds that starts on the southern island of Okinawa."

The romantic comedy manga follows a boy named Teruaki Nakamura, who relocates from Tokyo to Okinawa. There, he becomes smitten with a girl named Hina Kyan. However, Teruaki struggles to comprehend Hina's Okinawan dialect. Hina's friend, Kana Higa, frequently assists Teruaki by translating the dialect for him. Unbeknownst to him, Kana harbors secret feelings for him.
