Today at Anime NYC, NBCUniversal Japan's panel announced that a TV anime adaptation and production of Firehead and Yahako's A Wild Last Boss appeared! fantasy light novel series is underway. They have released a "super" teaser visual and a commemorative design (illustration) created by Yahako.

J-novel Club a wild last boss appeared! The official English version of the light novel explains it as follows...

The year is 2800 and Lufas Maphaahl – the black-winged tyrant, great conqueror, and leader of the twelve heavenly stars – has returned. A man wakes up in the body of his MMO character 200 years later after her defeat during a player-made event in the Exogate online game. He is now trapped in her body. But this isn't a game, this is the real world. Her reign is over and her legacy is based only on fear. lufas will now have to travel through the world of the exgate, find answers to his questions, possibly find some companions, and face all the demons that his "death" has unleashed upon the world...
